John joined the East Midlands Special Operations Unit in July 2021 after achieving a first in BA Professional Policing at the University of Northampton as a cyber intern and achieved a full time permeant position as a Cyber Protect Officer and has remained in this role since April 2022.

During his Time at the East Midlands Special Operations Unit john has also been seconded to the Leicestershire Police cybercrime team where he was a Local Protect Officer and gained invaluable experience in advising both victims of cybercrime and local schools and businesses on how they could better protect themselves from the ever evolving threat of cybercrime. Johns main role as a Regional Protect Officer is to not only assist Local Protect Officers in delivering inputs but to also help organise both regional and national cybercrime awareness campaigns across the East Midlands.

Recently, John became Comptia Security+ qualified after successfully passing the exam in December 2022 and is looking forward to developing his knowledge further in the cyber security field
