EMCRC champions the region’s female business leaders by welcoming new Cyber Essentials Partner, Shift Key Cyber Ltd

Shift Key Cyber are a female led cyber security consultancy who have become our latest Cyber Essentials Partner. They are experienced in working with businesses of all sizes across a range of sectors to improve their cyber resilience and reduce their exposure to cyber risk.

Shift Key Cyber are an NCSC Assured Service Provider and a Certification Body for Cyber Essentials and also offer certification for Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 implementations.

They work with businesses to understand their individual requirements and then offer a bespoke, tailored, and cost-effective approach. This enables them to deliver achievable solutions and incorporate more secure practices into the day-to-day business processes and activities.

They understand the challenges faced by businesses such as lack of budget or an in-house security team. They work to address these challenges and provide advice to ensure security fits their business, not the other way around.

Their ultimate goal is to promote awareness and help all businesses understand that cyber security is a journey of continual improvement which incorporates people, process and technology.

The EMCRC acts as an impartial broker in the interests of our community members, referring them when requested to our Cyber Essentials Partners, who can guide them through the Cyber Essentials certification.

If a member contacts us needing other services such as Incident Response - or they need a new IT partner - then we can signpost them to our associates who have the required skillset.

Referrals are based on what our members need, and we always try to put members in touch with partners based on the members wishes.

We now have 11 Cyber Essentials Partners throughout the East Midlands region who have a vast range of skills and knowhow, enabling them to assist businesses of any size.

Dawn O'Connor, Co-Founder of Shift Key Cyber said of the company becoming Cyber Essentials Partners:

"We are delighted to be working as a Cyber Essentials Partner with the EMCRC. Their mission aligns with our own values and directive to help businesses become more cyber resilient."

DI Colin Ellis, Managing Director and Police Delivery Lead at the EMCRC, added:

"I’m delighted to have Shift Key Cyber working with us here at the CRC, as it’s important that we support women in this predominantly male-dominated industry. The region is  also full of fantastic female-led businesses and we need to make sure what we meet their needs.
"Here at the CRC we are looking to help every organisation across the East Midlands to become resilient to online crime, so it is really important to us that when a business member comes to us for help, we are able to offer them support from a partner that  is not only expertly qualified, but also one that they feel they can relate to.
"I'm pleased to say that our Cyber Essential Partners are all diverse, save for the fact they are all experts in their field."

What is a Cyber Essentials Partner?

Our Cyber Essentials Partners are certifying bodies operating throughout our region that have been accredited by Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises Consortium (IASME), who have been selected by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as the body to oversee Cyber Essentials.

We are proud to work alongside the best cyber agencies and consultants from across the region to offer access to national intelligence data and affordable, practical help to businesses across the east Midlands.

Our Cyber Essentials Partners can help your organisation achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification, and like ourselves, are focused on promoting continuous improvement in cyber resilience.

Shift Key Cyber are a great addition to the EMCRC's Cyber Essentials Partner group, and it shows our ambition as a Centre that we wish to partner with such outstanding businesses and organisations.

But our ambition doesn’t end there. We’re seeking the support of other distinguished businesses and motivational business leaders by joining us, not just as Cyber Essentials Partners, but as Community Members, Friends of the Centre, Community Ambassadors, Advisory Group members or Board members. We now have the scope for businesses to partner with us on various levels of affiliation.

If you would like to support our work and join our community, or feel you can bring equal skill, vision and ingenuity to the Centre in other areas, then please contact us via our website or contact Colin Ellis via his LinkedIn account.
